Dear
Sir or Madam,
Warehouses and supermarkets up and down the country are full of thousands
of consumer goods. In days gone by, the customer stood in small specialist
shops and spoke to a trained salesman who described the benefits of the
product and generated sales in that way.
Now, customers pick longer-lasting consumer goods in the warehouse because
they feel the form of the product, its function and, perhaps more importantly,
its colour, says something to them. This is what is known as a spontaneous
purchase.
While longer-lasting consumer goods communicate to the buyer
at the point of sale by virtue of their type, the colour, form and function
and encourage the warehouse or supermarket customer to buy them, there
is now a new way that products can communicate with the customer.
During production, a scent additive can be added to the plastic
granulate to attract the customers attention to the product. Scientists
have known for some time that scents act as a chemical message
and can sometimes trigger powerful emotions and whole worlds of different
feelings in people. Scents can evoke sympathy and have a real, positive
impact on the way people decide to buy consumer goods.
During the production of plastic consumer goods, 5-10 percent of the total
volume of plastic granulate is added in the form of scent granulate
in the same way as colour granulate is added so the finished plastic
product is then scented for a period of up to about 3 months. If the product
is wrapped in a plastic film or blister packaging, the scent can last
for several years.
Scent granulates are available in many different scents, e.g. citrus /
lime, sandalwood, vanilla and many more.
Our company has taken over the sales and marketing of these scent granulates,
if you are interested in a test pack of this fascinating product and would
like to add scent to your plastic products, please contact us.
We look forward to hearing from you. Best regards
